The Design
The tower is situated at Barangaroo Reserve where the design expresses themes of liveliness and fun as well as drowning and disorientation, primarily through a bright biophilic open platform in contrast to a dark cold box on the water - which are connected by a coloured mirror installation in between. The folly is mainly comprised of a steel structure that is marine grade to withstand the site’s coastal conditions, and is clad with reflective stainless steel sheets to move light, glass positioned for views, and bamboo to connect to nature.
